Rebecca Vigeant is a NH native, graduate of the University of New Hampshire in biology with minors in nutrition and kinesiology who went on the pursue a Master’s degree at Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences to become a Physician Assistant. Trying to Bridge academic sciences to and clinical medicine, she grew her career at Tufts Medical Center Pratt Urology Associates—assisting the team in caring for adult and pediatric Urology patients in surgery, inpatient and outpatient services and on-call/emergency consultation.
Her family grew during the pandemic and she pulled back from full time clinical medicine to raise her children. When one of her babies had severe eczema and food allergies, and feeling at a dead end with natural ways to help the baby, she sought a medical doctor practicing functional medicine for a solution. Through the process , it became evident that a gluten sensitivity was a major contributor, and after removing it, showed clearing of symptoms. Rebecca became inspired to pursue a functional certificate herself, towards which she is still working, and seeks to help other families solve their chronic disease problem with the power of identifying and targeting the root cause.
Rebecca has experienced first hand the challenge of finding the root cause in her child’s condition, but saw the fruits it yielded in healing her baby. The birth of EFMI is the continuation of a paradigm shift towards seeing the patient as a dynamic network or integrating systems, and approaching the problem from its dysfunction.
